About Laura
Hi, I’m Laura – a qualified teacher, experienced examiner and specialist tutor with a passion for helping learners achieve (and often exceed!) their target grades.
I hold a First-Class degree in History, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Distinction in Access to Education, and I’m proud to be a DfE registered teacher with a National Professional Qualification in Leading Literacy (NPQLL). I’ve taught across both primary and secondary schools, working with a wide range of learners and always aiming to make education inclusive, engaging and effective.
As an examiner and SATs marker, I know exactly what exam boards are looking for. I use this insight to help students build strong exam skills and confidence – whether they’re tackling Year 6 SATs, preparing for their 11+, GCSEs and A Levels or developing core reading and writing abilities.
In addition to teaching, I also design and create high-quality resources and schemes of work for Classroom Secrets, a well-known teacher resource company used by schools across the UK. I also create my own educational posters and printables, which are available to purchase on TES.
Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of roles including classroom teacher, reading leader, SEND and SEMH specialist, 1:1 tutor and education project lead. I’ve also led national teams within the education publishing sector, ensuring accessible, inclusive and well-researched content is available for all learners.
My approach is always personalised, supportive and grounded in what works. I truly believe every child can make progress with the right guidance and a little encouragement.
If you’re looking for a friendly, experienced educator who’s committed to helping learners thrive – I’d love to hear from you.
